show moreEngland should have a tenant farmers commissioner, the law should be changed to improve tenancies and Defra should change its schemes to make them more accessible to farmers renting land. Just some of the 74 recommendations from the Tenant Working Group whose report has just been published. Its chair Baroness Kate Rock is urging Defra to adopt the recommendations 'with a sense of urgency'.
Across the world grain prices are high, so despite the massive increases in the cost of fertiliser and fuel this year, arable farmers are making money. We've been looking at international trade all this week, and today we visit a farm in Wiltshire growing grain for export.
