It’s not a question that we would typically ask anyway. But the crazy thing is that God truly does desire our hearts. But we’re too focused on everything else that distracts us from him. We’re very quick to jump to opportunities to grow our business, to network for our church, or volunteer for the community. What about networking for our heart? When was the last time you said 'yes' to you? And not just yes to anything. But yes to opening up your heart, opening up the door, and letting God flood you with his passion for your life. Allowing him to be present in your daily responsibilities and  piercing your heart with His love and grace! Wait a minute! I talked to God daily. I have my morning coffee with Him. I pray. Oh, and when I need Him, I call out to Him. That’s all great. However, is He truly leading your life? Or are you only using God in case of an emergency? If there is a crisis, you call on God. If the day is stuff you handle, then you're in control. The K.I.S.S. ~ Who holds the key to your heart? God wants you to live not by the world’s expectations or even your own expectations. You don’t know what’s best for you! Only God does! And that's a sucker punch! You don't know what's best for you. 

• Why do you think you get tangled up in these messes?
• Why do you wrestle so often with fear that you have a nickname for it?
• Why do keep making the same errors or find yourself in the same predicaments? 

I’m guilty of thinking I’m doing everything right. Leading my life as though I knew exactly what God wanted for me. How can we know what God wants when we don't include Him in our every day? "Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it." ~ Proverbs 4:23 We tend to guard our heart, primarily from hurt. 

• We avoid uncomfortable situations with our spouse and friends.
• We hide the truth of what's really happening, so we don't have to own it or even change it.
• We suppress our struggles/addictions/challenges and keep them to ourselves with the thought that this is best for us.

That is one way to guard your heart. Yet not the way God intends for you stand guard. Your heart is the well spring of your actions. So above all else, guard your heart for everything comes from your heart. It's the center of your world, the heartbeat (literally and figuratively). So the question remains...Who holds the key to your heart?  REFLECTION: Throughout the day and into this week, reflect on who or what holds the key to your heart? Is your heart being governed by money or fame? Is your heart being controlled by jealousy or bitterness? Is your heart being trained daily to walk by faith while putting on the armor of God? Wait just a minute. I hear knocking.
