Everyone is searching for the latest and greatest hacks; shortcuts to avoid the longer route. But life is an adventure where the blessings are in the battle. Shortcuts usually create longer detours. We think we're helping the situation. But in actuality, we are prolonging our discomfort and extending our stay in the areas we are trying to escape. God doesn't always give us the answers at the beginning of a new adventure. Because if He did, do you think you would follow through? That's a question I've been wrestling with lately. If I only knew, Lord, where you want me to go specifically, we could cut a few corners and I could get to doing what you want me to do! Have you ever had that conversation? Maybe I'm the only one. But probably not.  We don't want to fight the battles and go through hard stuff to get where we need to be going. We just want to get there! Why does it have to take so long? The K.I.S.S. ~ The blessings are in the battle! Rushing God only slows down what we need to learn. For such an impatient and ungrateful society, we sure demand a lot when we want our way. But what's forgotten, is the fight's not ours to carry. The battle belongs to the Lord. (1 Samuel 17:47) If we would just get out of the way, God could do what He does best.  NO! NO!! NO!!! We won't have it that way. Instead we put up a fight, throw temper tantrums, demand we be heard, and then try it the only way we can see it working. The joke's on us.  God can see 360 degrees, 365 days of the year, 24/7. He's all about the 4D model. Why rush greatness? Why stand at the door and scream? God stands at the door and knocks. (Revelation 3:20) But are we listening? REFLECTION: What battle are you fighting today? Where do you feel that you are in it alone? The challenge today is to invite God into your battle. Look for Him. Ask Him what He wants you to see. Seek His plan. Knock and the door will be opened. (Mattthew 7:7) You are not alone. The fight is not for you to win. The battle is for you to cling to Christ more. Rely on Him. Rest in His goodness for your greatness is to come.
