Now, there's nothing wrong with that. But it can be stifling to the family's flow and interaction with each other. If one or more feel subject to judgment, there will be no downtime. Have you ever said, "I just want time to be me?" Well, your children hear you say that (and so does your spouse), and it presents an environment that you can't be you all the time. I know for me, I want my children to feel comfortable to be themselves around me, even if they are going through a phase I don't like. Life can't be all work and no play. You have to find that happy medium that works for everyone in the season you are in. The K.I.S.S. ~ Find the happy medium! There is no better time than now!

1. First off, you have to see your child. Through the good, bad, and still learning, notice your child. There is no greater joy to a child than recognition from his/her parent.
2. Take time away from the distractions. And those distractions might be work, binge-watching your latest addiction, social media feeds, or too many activities. 
3. Create your now. Find what works and make it happen. This is where you are intentional about what you are doing. And that means being intentionally lazy and doing nothing. It might be setting up a date night. Whatever you need as a family, make it happen. Create your now!

It's not an easy feat to accomplish. But it definitely can be done by taking A.I.M.!  As the parent, you have to meet the child where they are at. So regardless of age, you can find that happy medium. And don't judge yourself too harshly at first. Simply let your child know that you are trying new things and you want his/her input. If something works well, then plan it again. If it's a flop, then toss it away. Time doesn't stand still. So don't wait for the next longest partial lunar eclipse; the frost moon for us. Really tighten up your grip on your family lifestyle. See and hear your child in all seasons. Some are going to challenge you to the core, if they haven't already. And others you are going to want to press repeat over and over again. Life is an amazing adventure. Live. Love. Impact. "Be present. Be incredible.
