Do you have a place to belong? And I mean something more than cooking dinner, doing the laundry, or being an underpaid uber driver to activities. Life isn't about your responsibilities, even though they are essential. The heartbeat of life comes from your relationships especially your marriage, your partner for life. Plus, you having a place to belong gives you a greater motivation to continue your journey with intentional direction and actions, not just going through the motions because you have to. But what if you feel like a misfit in your own home? What if you are like an ornament out of place on the Christmas tree? 
- You don't get noticed.
- You blend in with every other ornament.
- Nothing sets you apart. 
How do you find a place to belong when you feel lost? You have to learn to shop differently. The K.I.S.S. ~ Learn to shop differently! Who doesn't like shopping? Okay. A few women and most men. But what if this isn't your typical shopping, going into a brick 'n mortar store? Think of it as a shift in perspective, how you train yourself to look so you see what you don't normally see. It's window shopping at its best. Confused? Great! Let's break it down. You're shopping for three things.
- Comfort - Comfort comes in all shapes and sizes. You have to know what your spouse needs and your spouse needs to understand what you need. Don't think he should already know. Assumptions only attract wedges in the marriage.
- Beauty - Life isn't always what you want or hope for. So you have to be willing to look beyond the messes and see the blessings. When you give yourself permission to see past the faults and failures, there is where beauty is discovered between two committed people.
- Peace - Temper tantrums may have worked when you were younger, but it's not very attractive the older you get. Trying to jab and poke just because you want to prove a point or be right does not make it the correct choice for instilling peace. And understand, peace does not mean everyone gets along with no fights. In fact, you may have more heated discussions because you have created space to be real and authentic without judgment. Every side is understood. Everyone is heard. This brings peace even within disagreements.
