Two individuals centered on themselves come together hoping to create a relationship with no problems or worries. Now you and I both know there is no perfect marriage especially if we think there aren't going to be any struggles or troubles. That's only in a fairytale.  The first disagreement happens and you don't think anything of it. However, the disagreements become more frequent which begins to upset you more.  Who did I marry? These are the real thoughts that occur in marriages. Humans are selfish beings. We want what we want when we want it.  That's works if your single, but not married.  So how do you get from being two self-centered, strongly opinionated persons to come together? You have to become one heart. The K.I.S.S. ~ Become one heart! And this one heart starts not with what's on earth, but whose created you; God. Marriage is a sacred vow taken by two people to become one heart with God. And truly, our marriage should direct those to God. Marriage is not about you and your spouse. Surprise!! If you look at Ephesians 5:21-33, Paul writes about the instructions for marriage. "Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ." ~ Ephesians 5:21 Marriage is not about you, but about Christ and the direction of your relationship. You gotta stop looking at yourself as being the primary concern, and look to God. How do you submit to one another in an advanced society?

1. Know your limitations. - Neither of you are perfect; you both have limited wisdom and perspective. So don't rely on your own knowledge, but on God's knowledge.
2. Accept your spouse. - Your job is not to train or change your spouse. That's God's job. So don't take it away from Him. Stay in your own lane. Look at what you can change to better yourself which in turn will better your relationship. 
3. Love as God loves. - In order to become one heart, you must love unconditionally. It's not your job to boss around your spouse as to how to love. Set the standard by forgiving quickly and listening more frequently. The reason why I say this is because your spouse desires to be seen and heard. That goes for all human beings. So don't miss your spouse.
