One thing that must remain constant in a marriage or in a relationship is to seek with diligence. There your connection will grow, and your love will endure. But as life moves forward, where new decisions and choices are made, it's easy to stray from the good intentions years prior. The selfish tendency of each partner is awakened, not because of personal attacks against each other. More so, it comes into play because of the comfort that's found in the relationship. However, that comfort can be misunderstood. Just because you like that old chair doesn't mean that it can still support you like it did the first few years after buying it. Marriage is the same way. Unless you work at it daily, what you had, in the beginning, will fade. It becomes used up and broken into. Who you couldn't live without, you now take for granted. How unfair that is to both of you and to your marriage. You deserve better, and so does your spouse. So if you want that incredible marriage, seek with diligence. The K.I.S.S. ~ Seek with diligence! Now diligence is defined by Google as careful and persistent work or effort. So first off, are you pursuing your spouse? Because that's what seeking with diligence is all about. And not the pursuit of intimacy. Yes, that matters, but so does your spouse's mind! When you seek with diligence....

1. Pursue with purpose. Every day needs to be a day where you learn something new about your spouse. It might be something that happened at work. A new interest. A concern or doubt. 
2. Savor the share. Sharing is a focused response given to your spouse. But at the same time, it's also an intimate response. Because all of a sudden, what your spouse cares about, so do you! This is an emotional exchange of love. 
3. Invest in the heart. You can't go wrong when you keep your actions connected to your spouse's heart. No matter what situation or circumstance arises, don't let it get in the way of your heart. Love your spouse unconditionally. Serve with a smile. And forgive faster than you remember.
