Have you ever had the urge to eat a certain food at a certain time? Or maybe do an activity specific to your interests? What cravings and habits have in common will surprise you. Not only does cravings not just deal in food, but habits are more than brushing your teeth twice a day. A CRAVING is a powerful desire for something. And it does not have to be related to food. A HABIT is a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up. Can a craving be hard to give up; is a habit powerful enough for you to continue to do it?  YES! YES!! YES!!! Both are controlled actions, reactions and responses by the mind. It's a pattern (a loop) that puts much of what we do on autopilot.  Are you living your life on autopilot? Charles Duhigg, a Pulitzer prize winning reporter, author of The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business and spent over 120 weeks on the NYT Best Sellers List. He speaks to how habits are created by loops (supported by various research and studies) containing routine, reward and cue.  If you're tired of living on autopilot and want to make a change in your habits, what can you do to change the formula? First off, habit is a formula the brain automatically follows. Habit = craving/action/routine + reward + trigger How long does it take for a new habit to be formed? As long or as short for YOU!! It is all dependent on YOU! It's not a magic day of 21 days, 30 days, 2 hours. It's how you take the change, implement the plan and put in the energy and effort needed to rewire the habit. The K.I.S.S. ~ Rewire Your Habits!
