I had a blast with over 130 fifth graders on a field trip at a Leadership Reaction Course for the military. This course is used for training soldiers in leadership, communication, teamwork, confidence and more.  Desire to be supported and encourage by other like-minded women? What got under my skin is how progressive we are in technology, medical advance, science research; yet we are regressing in life application skills. The ones being taught at the LRC (Leadership Reaction Course). Unfortunately, what I found was laziness, the expectation someone else was going to do the work, and not willing to think outside the box. The K.I.S.S. ~ Lead by example. Be a role model! The simple way to remember this is M.O.D.E.L.!

1. MODEL the behavior you want your child to use.
2. OWN your mistakes and acknowledge them to your child.
3. DEVELOP appropriate responses in situations.
4. ENCOURAGE appropriate actions.
5. LOVE unconditionally. Love them where they're at.
