Young children are being taught a philosophical approach to thinking, with some remarkable effects on their intelligence. Wouldn't it be great to have summer stimulate thinking? One program was developed in the 1970s by an American psychologist Matthew Lipman who discovered Philosophy for Children. His belief is that children possess the ability to think abstractly from an early age. The K.I.S.S. ~ How to be a Philosopher!

1. Choose a short story, a picture, a poem, or an object as a stimulus for discussion.
2. Discuss the chosen item. Children raise issues and ideas and explore more intensely and deeper.
3. REinvent the new discovery. If you change the story, write the new story.

All of the studies showed positive outcomes in terms of reading, reasoning, cognitive ability and self-esteem. All areas we want for our children. IMPACT! What are you waiting for?
