When your child is emotionally shipwrecked, you can't help but wish everything could be better. You wish you could wave that "mama magic wand" and make it all go away. They have to walk through their own fire. They have to figure it out themselves. Kids get stressed out. They get worried. We don't give them enough credit for their concerns. Our children are forced to grow up way to fast. What happened to them playing and exploring? What happened to them enjoying and experiencing life only the way a child can? We push our children. We put pressure on our children. Do we stop long enough to realize what we are doing? Do we see their emotional struggle? Do we stop long enough? I raise this point because our children are growing up way too fast! We push them with our own expectations and sometimes our own intentions. Even though our intentions may be good --- it can still hurt our precious babies. As adults, we can become emotionally shipwrecked. "Our emotions lead our decisions." That can be a benefit, but when we're emotionally shipwrecked, not so much. Our decisions can be irrational. We just make the wrong one. Or we try to justify the wrong ones. How can we become emotionally UN-shipwrecked? The K.I.S.S. ~ Make time to give time!

1. Open yourself to intently listening.
2. Hear the thoughts, hurts, and concerns --- no judgements.
3. Help them come to the resolution.
