Last week saw the colossal computer system failure at British Airways. Passengers were left with no flights, no information, lost luggage, missed hotel bookings and car hire - British Airways is now inundated with requests for compensation and refunds, and many are still waiting for their luggage. So if you were stuck, missed a wedding, a job interview, a holiday with hotel and car hire already paid for, what are your rights? British Airways boss claims that people will get compensation, but what are they entitled to? There are however, EU regulations governing compensation for cancelled flights leaving from EU airports. If you're more than three hours late arriving, or your flight is cancelled, you could be due compensation of up to €600 per person - that's £520 based on today's exchange rate.
