Actor Ido Drent may have perfected his craft on Shortland Street, and garnered attention in Aussie series Offspring, but his latest show has seen him go global.
Local crime drama The Gulf – focusing on a series of crimes taking place on Auckland’s Waiheke Island – is back for a second season on Three from Monday March 1st.
The show was a success in New Zealand, but thanks to production input from Germany, the show has become a global hit, being featured on international streaming services such as Amazon Prime and Acorn TV.
Drent joined Mike Hosking in studio to discuss filming the show, it's international success, and what's different about working on a show with international input.
