There's belief the Government's unwillingness to pay more towards housing has put more children on the breadline.
A new Child Poverty Action Group report estimates an extra 18,000 children have been pushed into poverty, since the first lockdown.
That's an increase of about ten per cent.
Report co-author Leah  Bain told Mike Hosking it's due to political decision-making that's kept welfare far below the poverty line.
“It still doesn’t ensure adequate housing, especially for those living in the city centres, for example, where housing increases have increased dramatically.”
