The housing sector's economic impact appears to be going from strength to strength.
A report commissioned by the Property Council reveals it makes up 15 percent of our total GDP, making it the country's biggest industry.
It also shows growth ballooned to $19.6 billion between 2009 and 2019.
Property Council Chief Executive Leonie Freeman told Mike Hosking the continuing success of the sector is vital.
"It is integral to everything that everybody does, so it's important that it remains strong."
Freeman says housing is a critical part of the economy and growth is important.
