One of the easiest ways we can stop the spread of infections, including Covid-19, is washing our hands.
But researchers have found that's not always that easy, with public toilets lacking when it comes to the correct facilities.
Professor of public health at University of Otago Nick Wilson has been surveying public toilets, and found 15 percent of toilets had no soap, and some even had no water.
Nick Wilson told Mike Hosking council and government need to address the issue.
“It’s a council responsibility, but the central Government could actually set minimal standards and ensure better funding as well.”
