show moreSale prices by Barfoot and Thompson for June were up 2.6% on May, an average of one point one four million, while the median price was also up 3.4%.
Actual house sales were up 3.8% on May and their total listings were the lowest at a month's end for five years, they are flying out the door.
Bear in mind there is usually a dip as we come in winter but not this year, bucking the trend.
Barfoot and Thompson managing director Peter Thompson told Mike Hosking there are a couple of factors that are contributing to the increases.
“There are a lot more people looking to buy at the moment because they have cash in their hand, or low interest rates.”
